Summary: Latisys partnered with Virima Technologies to enhance its consulting, evaluation and migration capabilities.

Virima Technologies: Virima is an Atlanta-based consultancy and automation software vendor that helps organizations with data centre consolidation, management and transformation, along with cloud/virtual migration strategies. Its flagship product EcosystemManager is a tool that helps automate and optimize the process of moving IT applications and infrastructure.

Why: Latisys will offer Virima’s technology and services to its customers in order to add value to the process (migration and evaluation) rather than just the end game (hosting and colocation in a Latisys facility). Latisys hopes this will save customers time and money when they decide to make the move to outsourced facilities and in the process give them more insight into the challenges they face, while drawing out a detail plan to address them. And even better, it hopes a partner like Virima can help push potential customers to take the leap to outsourcing.

Impact: This partnership adds a channel for Latisys. But most importantly this is about bringing on capabilities and demonstrating value that reinforces the benefits of outsourced hosting while at the same time addressing concerns that can be a barrier to closing the deal.
