Summary: RagingWire acquired 75 acres of land in Ashburn, Virginia for a data centre build.
Details: RagingWire paid $20m. This land will be used to build out a very substantial data center with initial estimates having it totalling 750k sqft (to be built out in phases). The forthcoming build will likely position RagingWire more squarely in the wholesale colocation business and give it a generous runway of inventory as it looks to fill its existing Ashburn footprint (150k sqft), which only just opened in early 3Q12. This would be RagingWire’s second Ashburn-area data centre and bring its data centre count to three (its flagship facility is in Sacramento, CA).
