Summary: Savvis expanded its data centre inventory outside London in Slough, UK.
Details: The new facility- LO5 – adds 35k sqft or net raised floor and 2.4 MW of power supporting power densities over 150 w/sqft. The Slough site’s footprint is now 100k sqft and has access to 8.8 MW of power.
Angle: Savvis is centered around London when it comes to Europe with five facilities in London and six total in Europe (the other is in Frankfurt, Germany). This expansion effectively doubles the Savvis footprint in the UK and it will be home to the entire portfolio: hosting, cloud and colocation. Demand, needless to say, was cited as a key driver behind the expansion. Financial services and consumer brands were identified as key verticals.
