Equinix rolled out new capabilities and locations for its Equinix Cloud Exchange platform, with the sum total of the developments being that it is now referring to the interconnection platform as Equinix Cloud Exchange Fabric, or ECX Fabric, for short. The updated name is intended to reflect the ability to now use Equinix’s SDN platform – built in-house with proprietary technology – to remotely connect between other customers and partners in any of the ECX-enabled locations within North America and Europe, and eventually around the globe.
