With the end of summer things began to pick up again and it was a busy week across the sector. We saw a bit of everything. M&A activity has not slowed down and the past week saw 365 Main get back into the colocation game with the acquisition of several Equinix data centres. The facilities span primary and secondary markets and give 365 Main a national footprint on which to build upon. In the UK, Six Degrees continued its roll-up efforts with another acquisition.
Elsewhere, we saw a number of cloud wins as hoster-operated clouds continue to win on the strength of a compelling value proposition. And the outsourced model value proposition extends to the world of SaaS as we saw more email infrastructure migration from on-premise to the cloud.
The other development worth noting this past week was the effort by hosters to encourage adoption of additional services beyond hosting and infrastructure. We provide our take on some of the things to think about when it comes to tackling this very important challenge.
