IBM acquires Verizon managed hosting, cloud assets (update)
IBM has acquired Verizon’s managed hosting and cloud business. This follows the recent sale of certain assets within its data centre portfolio to Equinix. The deal marks Verizon’s full divestment of the Terremark assets it purchased only back in 2011 along with other infrastructure service customers it acquired in previous years. IBM has done a similar deal, picking up managed hosting assets from AT&T late in 2015. The deal is expected to close later in 2017.
