It was another busy week across the sector as infrastructure moved to edge markets, interconnection nodes were brought online and APAC was at the centre of a number of developments.

Infrastructure continues to push to the edge. EdgeConneX went live with its new location in Argentina and a new third party data centre went into service in Moscow. Meanwhile, there were launches and build activity in Phoenix, London, UK and The Netherlands, while we got some perspective on the demand profile in Montreal. The push to edge is also shaping the strategies of investment vehicles and we take a closer look at one.

As public cloud expands, data centres are home to growing numbers of cloud on-ramps. Cyxtera recently brought online a Megaport-based on-ramp in Toronto and CoreSite its expanding its interconnection capabilities as well.

In APAC, the data centre market saw a number of noteworthy developments. Data centre operator 21Vianet signed a hyperscale tenant and Baidu set up public cloud infrastructure in Singapore. In Australia, DXN opened a new facility in Sydney and Telstra sold three data centres in its portfolio to I-Squared Capital

We continue to work through earnings season. This past week, we looked at Alibaba, Endurance International and QTS. On the private side, RapidScale shared some data points about its growth trajectory.

Finally, there were some interesting wins on the cloud side. Expedient won a cloud repatriation and Atmosera helped a customer migrate to Azure.
