AWS, edge, data centres and infra // STRUCTURE 2020
There were a number of interesting new products and services coming out of AWS re:Invent in Las Vegas and the main one that caught our attention was the introduction of AWS Local Zone. Local Zone is the AWS answer for the edge and it is coming online in Los Angeles with more locations to come next year.
The edge will again be a hot topic of conversation at the third annual infra // STRUCTURE summit in Toronto on May 6-7, 2020. In 2018, the theme was hyperscale and the new world order. In 2019, it was decentralization: beyond hyperscale. And in 2020, we bring this conversation full circle with the theme of convergence: bridging hyperscale and edge in a decentralizing world.
