The sector did not show much signs of slowing as the holiday break approaches. There was M&A activity, more out of earnings season, notable activity in India, and a number of interesting product developments in cloud.

As is quite common, a number of transactions were completed just before the end of the year. The DigtalBridge acquisition of Switch hit the finish line, while 1547 and Harrison Street acquired another carrier hotel in a secondary US market. On the cloud and MSP side, there were a number of transactions around managed public cloud. Effectual completed a recap and brought in a new primary investor, Centrilogic in Toronto acquired a local shop and Bespin Global in South Korea brought in a new JV partner and investor in the UAE.

Earnings season has wound down, but Oracle reported later in the cycle and shared some interesting data points about its cloud infrastructure growth trajectory, while we took a closer look at the results coming from Chindata and NEXTDC.

Data centre expansion activity continues to be global in scope. CapitaLand will develop a hyperscale site in Hyderabad, Princeton Digital Group brought online its new data centre in Mumbai and Yotta inaugurated a new data centre at its Noida campus.

The subscale cloud market continues to see regular product development. Providers are attacking the hated egress fees of hyperscalers and the latest with a new wrinkle here was Vultr. Meanwhile, GoDaddy deployed some of its acquired technology to enable a new managed WooCommerce offering.

Finally, there was some more movement in executive circles. Andy Power took over the CEO role at Digital RealtyEdgeConneX added two more members to its senior management team and Vantage brought in a new CIO.
