The recent week saw significant activity in the hyperscale data centre space on a global basis, while there were a few more results coming out of earnings season. We also again provide some monthly insights.

There were a number of noteworthy hyperscale data centre developments. A new platform called Ada Infrastructure, backed by GLP, was launched in multiple regions, while AWS received planning permission and Microsoft is planning a new campus in Dublin, Ireland, which has begun to show signs of life again after racing various regulatory hurdles. Meanwhile, QTS entered the market in South CarolinaODATA launched its first facility in Rio de Janiero and Novva Data Centers acquired land in Mesa, Arizona. There is no question that some of these developments will cater to hyperscale cloud deployments, but AI continues to be something that is moving into the pipeline. The AI demand, at first glance, is less tied to primary markets and we provide some details on the CoreWeave footprint that is rapidly in development.

Earnings seasons saw a late report from Edgio and we took a closer look at American Tower’s results, which included details about the data centre colocation and interconnection business. Edgio struggled in the recent quarter, while American Tower’s data centre business pushed forward.

Finally we provide a few more monthly insights. There has been more stabilization in the last month and quarter and pricing has been a part of that story. We also look more closely at AI demand, while trying to understand how AI is building in both primary and secondary markets.
