3Q23 IB: Executive Summary
The infrastructure services market pushed through another quarter that saw more signs of stabilization emerging amid a still difficult environment. As we have seen through this slower period, the underlying fundamentals and KPIs underpinning the sector have been healthy and trending in a positive direction. In a period of decelerating growth, the outsourced infrastructure model has demonstrated its value and seen accelerating uptake, while operators have done everything they can to innovate and have been constantly looking for ways to operate more efficiently. Challenges still exist. The aggressive growth in hyperscale has put a strain on supply chains and resource scarcity is an increasingly important issue in both mature and developing markets. Meanwhile, AI demand is close to gaining meaningful traction and has the potential to spark a wave of growth equal to or even greater than the hyperscale expansion phase seen over the last decade. This report takes a close look at the noteworthy trends and developments from the recent 3Q23 period. A more detailed look at the M&A landscape, APAC region and hyperscale cloud sectors is available to clients in separate quarterly reports.
