It was another busy week across the sector, with more from earnings season, webscale cloud developments, and a significant volume of activity in Jakarta, Indonesia. We also provide our monthly insights.
Earning season continues and we took a closer look at the results coming from GoDaddy. GoDaddy continues to see growth from next-generation service lines and is seeing some stabilization in larger macro trends. We comment on the emerging stabilization in the wider market in our monthly insights.
The webscale space continues to be busy and Vultr recently launched a CDN service. In other cloud developments, Reddit filed its IPO and the S-1 included interesting data points about its public cloud consumption, AWS expanded CloudFront to Turkey, AWS is building a cloud region in Mexico, while we take a closer look at some of chip development strategies at Microsoft and Amazon.
Jakarta, Indonesia has seen a significant volume of activity in the data centre cluster around central Jakarta. Around 60MW of inventory has recently come online in the downtown core from three operators (DCI Indonesia, Digital Edge and Bitera) and there is more to come. Demand is diversifying in Jakarta and it is coming from both the enterprise and hyperscale segments.
