Europe, APAC, hyperscale, managed public cloud, service tiers, earnings
The past week saw more activity from the hyperscale value chain, with Europe and APAC again figuring prominently.
Hyperscale platforms are increasingly using the self-build model and Google is doing this in Germany, while making plans for a second German cloud region in Berlin. Elsewhere in Europe, CyrusOne has gained momentum and recently entered the market in Madrid. We caught up with management to discuss the current state of the European business and the expansions that are underway. Europe continues to see expansions from MSPs and service providers based in the US and Canada and AMPD in Vancouver partnered with Equinix to open a new HPC compute node in Amsterdam.
