It was a shorter week with the US Thanksgiving holiday followed by Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Cyber Monday is a big day for the sector as online shopping season kicks off and puts pressure on Internet infrastructure.
Earnings season for the sector is focused on data centre operators and cloud infrastructure providers. But the social media giants have things to say of relevance to infrastructure, while on the vendor side there are insights to be drawn as well. We take a look at some of the things happening around Twitter and AMD.
There was also some M&A in APAC as DigitalBridge acquired a stake in Malaysia’s AIMS Data Centres as is puts together an operating platform focused on edge markets in ASEAN.
The product side saw some interesting developments, with OVH getting closer to launching a cloud storage service aimed at AWS S3 Glacier, while listed providers Rackspace and Digital Ocean both brought in new CFOs.
